My mother taught me to embroider when I was a little girl. I spent a fair amount of time learning some of the basic stitches. I also stitched quite a few items. Somewhere in my teens I let that pass time/talent/skill go (not sure what to call it!)

The other night while having a quiet moment, I suddenly remembered that skill. I realized that I may enjoy picking that up again…maybe bump it up…learn some new stitches, or even, stitch my own designs. Neat thought, but when would I do this? I don’t have that much spare time.

Today, while prowling thrift stores looking for other stuff…I stumbled across a book simply called “Traditional Japanese Embroidery.”  $5.00.

Now I have the ‘learn some new stitches’ resource…
