A Self Portrait

A Self Portrait

There is a lot of information out in the world about all the things that may hold us back. The way we were raised, the social environment we live in, our economic status, so on and so forth.

But what about that something inside of us that comes from the deepest part of our psyche, reaches out to our surface self and pulls us even farther out into the light. Urges us onward and outward.

What about that? What is that thing that drives some of us to explore farther than we have ever gone before? Something stirs and rises and reaches out. A part of us may want to run and hide. Close the window, retreat…sit back and wait out the impetus to move outward.

And still, this inner motivation continues to lurk and whisper to us.

And when we allow this self-directed voice to lead us, we have a strength – a power…that can not be denied. Because when we know this part of our self, when we know who we are – there is nothing that can stop us. Nothing.

When you know who you are;
when your mission is clear and you
burn with the inner fire of unbreakable will;
no cold can touch your heart;
no deluge can dampen your purpose.
You know that you are alive.
